The Bellarine Historical Society has recently published "The Waterholes: A history of Drysdale on the Bellarine" by Lynette Willey.
The book covers early settlement of the Bellarine Peninsula, the early land holders, the various schools, chruches and sporting clubs that were in existence along with commercial enterprises, the railway station, various hotels, farming enterprises and so forth. The book concludes with three walking historical tours of Drysdale you can take. Each walking tour takes approximately 90 minutes and begins and ends at the old Courhouse Museum in High Street Drysdale.
To buy a copy of the book visit the Old Courthouse Museum in High Street, Drysdale or phone 0417 133 177.
Drysdale is in the middle of the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. We moved here at the end of 2007 for the great beaches, horse riding, schools and facilities. This blog highlights issues and events in the Drysdale and Clifton Springs local area.
