I went for a bike ride on the weekend and had the misfortune to want to cross High Street in Drysdale at the Bellarine Rail Trail intersection.
Sunday morning - beautiful sunny day, not many people around - except those that were around, were driving their cars on High Street - so hard to get across the road!
Time for a pedestrian crossing here, before, a cyclist, horse and rider or pedestrian gets run over and killed.
Hi Cheryl
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your brush with the traffic! Have you talked about the issue with the Friends of The Rail Trail (to which you have a link from here, of course)? As you know, a Melbourne-based property developer has asked CoGG to re-zone land south of Murradoc Road for a 300-lot housing estate (via Planning Ammendment C103), so the traffic in High Street is likely to get worse.
Congratulationson the excellent blog: informative articles and a really good list of contact links. If anyone wants to find out what's happening in Drysdale & Clifton Springs, this is THE place to come! Good on you!
Patrick.
