Drysdale will again be host to the Victorian Equathon Challenge being held at Lake Lorne Reserve on Sunday 24th March 2013.
It is being run under the auspices of Modern Pentathlon Victoria at the facilities of the Drysdale Leopold Pony Club Grounds.
Entries close Tuesday 19th March 2013.
The Equathon is a three-event competition consisting of showjumping, swimming and cross-country running (you the person not you the horse).
Competitors first compete in the swim leg, with a designated distance for each age group, receiving a time. The next leg is a round of showjumping, this time is then added to the swimming time. The order of running in the last section of the event is according to the time placing after the first two phases, the leader start first.
This means it is a 'chase run' with the position over the line in the run being the final placing.
You can enter as an individual or as a member of a 3 person team (each team member completes one leg of the competition).
The Equathon event has been devised as a development sport for the Modern Pentathlon, which includes these three sports plus 10m Air Pistol Shooting and Epee (fencing).
Angela Darby, a past member of the Drysdale Leopold Pony Club, represented Australia at the Olympics in 2008 in the Modern Pentathlon.
For information on how to enter please contact Ernie Fontaine, Modern Pentathlon Victoria on 52641730 or 0421 210 178, esprit1@bigpond.com.
